Inspiration Destination #27 - ALWAYS ANYTHING GOES / What a beautiful day

Wednesday April 1, 2015

Welcome to another challenge at Inspiration Destination #27
ALWAYS ANYTHING GOES

Our sponsor this week is A day for daisies

I always take so long trying to find an image to use BECAUSE I LOVE THEM ALL. I want them all, but I chose to use Bird dreams  ..  I tried to paint this little girl with my Kuretake but it just did not look right so tossed it away and went back to the copics.  I also used my cloud template that I made out of x-ray film and just free handed a line of cloud to make my design. I have used it for years and love it.
I wanted to bring one of the flowers that is in the designer paper by stampin up - forward so stamped the sentiment on one of them and cut it out. I added some twine and called it done.

I hope you make it over to Inspiration Destination and join in on the challenge fun. remember it's always anything goes.

Catch the bug New Release / Happy your're my friend

Tuesday March 31, 2015

I just had to make a new background. I used a piece of watercolor paper. Clear embossed a large stampin up Large Circles stamp and heated. Then I wet the card and used my H2O paints and added the paint till I got the effect I wanted. I am loving the H2O's because of the shine it gives. I am happy with the results. Then I let it dry and went to color my image. I had to cut around the image because I wanted to show as much as possible the watercolor. I stamped the sentiment and added a few sequins to give interest.  I hope you enjoyed this card. Also check out the new images in the bugaboo store and awesome drop dead deals going on.. wow if you ever wanted some cheap awesome images now is the time.. head over to the Bugaboo store.

Monday March 30, 2015

I see now - that I am ready to post my card that the bears arm is really the girls.. oh well it's made and I am taking it that the bear has his hand over her arm and he's got a double chin which would be the other part of the girls arm.. lol - would you of even noticed if I didn't mention it?? I also fussy cut the frame out and it's layered on the dark blue square. It almost looks printed on it but I did cut around all of those scallops..   I used various basic gray strips and scraps to tie in some of the other colors I colored her. I used the image  Girl and teddy picture

 Our sponsor is Lacy Sunshine

Our sponsor is Lacy Sunshine and I chose to use the image Eleanor Hula Hoop  I use to play with my hula hoop all the time when I was a LOT younger.. It was fun, mom only said we could use our hoops outside because she was afraid we would break something in the house. So couldn't wait for spring or summer.. it's hard to do it with coats so winter it was not possible. I really wanted this card to be bright and colorful so I colored the image first and then went for the card stock.  I chose Stampin up base and scraps for the other colors.  I used the Lil Inker stitching die and Stampin up punch.  The sentiment is from Stampin up.  I like the happy colors. Tuesday March 24, 2015

Catch the bug has a new release by Bugaboo

New Release is KITTIES

I thought of making this a mothers day card but scratched my head and thought ... no why not just make it a loving card. You are sunshine for my soul.. this way it can be for a male or female and for anytime.  I thought the little kitty should be sun color for the sunshine in the sentiment.  I used the towel and  colorless blender solution for the technique on the kitties but not sure if I like the effect.. I might need to find a different texture towel.  I used papers from Basic Grey max and whiskers. The sentiment is from Verve called happy hello.

Friday March 20, 2015

Free Friday at Catch the bug  and you'll find this cutie in the Bugaboo store

This is the Free Friday called ASTRONAUT    and I wanted to have him look like he is in space so I used some watercolor paper and my Kuretake Garsai Tambi paints and just kept applying the paints and drying and adding and drying till I got the effect I wanted. I then watered down some white paint and used a paint brush and splattered to get a sky full of stars.  I wish it looked as good on the computer as it does in the real.. I had this great sentiment from My Favorite Things that went perfect for the image also the rocket is from MFT.  I embossed some paper till I got a nice smooth look in silver and die cut the rocket out, I did the same with the flame but hand cut it out. Gave a nice added touch of space to the card.

Catch the bug Humor Wednesday - One cool chick

Wednesday March 18, 2015

So since it's POULTRY DAY tomorrow, I used this fun image Cool Chick
I was messing around with some watercolor papers and my H2O paints and did this fun background. I took some white paint thinned down and splattered it over the background. I wish you could see the sparkle background because of the H2O paints. I really think it's too pretty for the image after my DH said it looked more like a night sky. I took some copper twine from Stampin up and just pooled it. I added the sentiment that came with the image and some fun su punched flowers with viva pearl drops. The leaves are ms punch.

Inspiration Destination #25 - I exercise

Wednesday March 18, 2015

Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo

This is my card using the Bugaboo image Mildred exercise spill coffee
The sentiment is not from Mildred,, it sounds more like Stella but thought it went well with the image. I colored her with the water color paint Kuretake Garsai Tambi and was so surprised to see that the Kraft paper from Kraft Journal didn't ball or feather up. I was so impressed. I love these paints. So worth the cost.  I had some strips of water color paper that I cut off of other projects and saved them so I just cut them up and slid them in behind the image. The were too pretty to throw away.. I used some sequins to finish her off. I was working on another project and set this image aside.. when I was splatting white paint on the other project some of the white hit this image.. that's why there are spots. I wasn't going to start over.. hate when that happens.

New Release day at Catch the bug  the new release can be found in the Bugaboo store
New Release is Egg tulip peeker

Since I don't send out Easter cards thought I would make this one a birthday card.  I am thought it would make a fun cute card for that special birthday.  I left the egg plain vs. adding some dots or lines. The die behind the image looks yellow but in real it's more of a lime green and the purple is deep purple. I wish there was a way to get true colors.. but I don't know if there is a way. I wouldn't know where to go to figure it out. I love her little bunny ears.

Week 3 of Monika and Billie background - Butterflies and stripes

Monday March 16, 2015

Week 3 is Monika's choice and it's  BUTTERFLIES AND STRIPES

I knew what I wanted to do when she mentioned the butterflies and stripes.. It was trying to decide which butterfly to use. I have quite a few because it's a favorite image. I chose Taylored Expressions butterflies and sentiment. I masked them and then used my stripes by My favorite things and stamped the green over the masked butterflies.  I think I should of probably used a mouse pad or something under the card so it would of stamped better around the masking. I don't know if it would of helped or not. But I am happy with the layout of the card and colors.

I hope you make it over to Monika's blog Creative with Monika and see her butterflies and stripes card. Give her some love..

Catch the bug - Bugaboo New Release / BUNNY TRIO - happy spring

Tuesday March 10, 2015

It's Tuesday so that is New Release day at Bugaboo digi stamps  New release is Bunny Trio

Head over to Catch the bug to see our cards and what the Design Team did with the new image. Bunny Trio. I am not much for Easter cards so thought I would make it a Happy spring card instead. I don't know what it is lately but I am loving grey card stock.. and no it's not because of 50 shades of grey either..  I used washi tape because it needed some additional color and I have so much of it I need to use it up.  I colored each bunny a different color and then I saw somewhere on taking a towel and putting non colored copic on it and lay it over the colored image (before you color anything else) and it gives a texture look so I cut a 3 x 3 out of a terry towel and did it. So that is the texture you see on the bunnies. I then finished coloring the card. The little sentiment is from Paper trey ink.
